MyGarden is an online application geared towards helping gardeners stay on top of their garden digitally by tracking when certain maintenance tasks were last completed and when routine trimming, seeding or other things need to be completed. Users can setup a garden calendar and set it up to send out reminders to the user regarding todo's needed for their garden. Users can also upload pictures of their gardens to document their own progress and to share their work with other garden enthusiasts. There is also a classifieds sections where gardeners can list plants or excess supplies for others. Users can also advertise gardening events that are upcoming through MyGarden.org. The site also publishes articles about all things gardening to help teach its users new tricks. There is an ad-supported and ad-free version of the application available. Users can also interact with other gardening fans through the MyGarden.org community by sending each other messages. Also there is a helpdesk available to assist users with any technical support issues that they might be having.

MyGarden came up as an idea from Twitter. The developers not only wanted to map out their garden but they also wanted to interact with other gardening enthusiasts. The idea developed in early 2011 and the site has grown and become polished in a short amount of time. The team at MyGarden consists of Dieter De Weirdt, Lieven Gekiere and Maarten Cammaert. As of April 2012, the site hosted 2,574 gardeners and had cataloged over 6,064 different species of plants.

MyGarden is a social community like Facebook, but it is focused solely on the gardening lifestyle. Users can use the site to research plants, get advice and share photos on their work.

MyGarden is very well designed and appears polished. The features of the community are easy to use and anyone familiar with Facebook will be able to start using MyGarden right away. The site is fast and responsive and there were no issues encountered during this review. Overall the user experience is a good one.

To register for MyGarden, users can click on the Sign Up button on their homepage. New accounts are asked to provide their first and last name, email address, choose a password and accept the site's terms and conditions.

Users can subscribe to a free account on MyGarden and will receive many of the features and benefits that the site has to offer. Free memberships are supported by advertising revenue. There is a premium account which runs € 24 per year. Subscribing to this plans offers an ad-free browsing experience plus the ability to add more photos, tag plants, integrate with one's blog and create more than 3 todo's per weeks.

MyGarden is a great application for those who are passionate about gardening, plants, botany or any such interests. The site has a wealth of information, great features to help users stay on top of their garden and a great community to grow as a gardener and to get fresh ideas and inspiration.
